What is the origin of dream success?  Why do some experience their dreams while others do not?  Why does it seem that some people have everything handed to them on a silver platter?  Why …Why…Why?

Have you ever found yourself in this type of questioning mode?   I know I have, and if you are honest with yourself, you have too!  So how well did you do coming up with the answers?  Probably about as well as most — you don’t.  You respond by thinking that others are just “lucky” or that they must be in the right place at the right time.

Actually,so-called luck is created for you when your conscious mind and your subconscious mind are aligned.  This develops a congruency that will enable you to be propelled to accomplishing  your goals and dreams. It only seems that some are lucky and some, possibly including yourself, are not!

This is why, when developing your dreams, you may not be having success:  because of the incongruity of your conscious and subconscious mind.  When this happens, you find yourself stuck.  Sometimes we even sabotage our own dream success, causing us to move away rather than towards our dream.

To become one of those “lucky people,” discussed in the above paragraph, it is imperative that you develop a minimum  understanding of the role your subconscious plays in your dream/goal development and the attainment of it.

This is a fairly complex topic worthy of taking time to explore and understand.   We will take small steps together over the coming weeks, blended with other information, to provide you a foundation that will be helpful in developing success.  The goal will be to help you understand  why it is necessary to evaluate your conscious and subconscious so that the two are aligned and you will achieve your goals.

Until later…

How are you doing on your dream to live the Workamping lifestyle?  Are you making progress in your journey?

This blog is dedicated to the mission of helping you realize your dream to live the Workamping lifestyle one day.  Or, if after fair evaluation, you determine that the Workamping lifestyle is not for you, then to move on to another dream on your bucket list.

So the question I would like you to consider today gives you two choices.  Are you moving away, or are you moving towards your dream?  You might be thinking  about continually moving towards your dream.  Every action you take moves you closer to your dream of experiencing the Workamping lifestyle.  That is the general conception of most, and the reality for few.

This is a fairly complex consideration  that I cannot do justice to on this  post.  I have planted the seed today to encourage you to begin thinking about it, and then we will revisit this question together from time to time over the coming weeks.

On the surface, the questions are not difficult and it might seem simple to answer with a quick response,  based upon your conscious thoughts about your dream.   What will take time for you to process and evaluate is how your personal co-pilot – your subconscious or unconscious mind is moving you?  Are you consciously moving towards your dream  only to be sabotaged by your subconscious thoughts?

You will find when you take the time to analyze how powerful our subconscious minds influence the direction of our  life experiences, that your answer to this question might surprise you.  When we consciously set a goal, (not just in regard to experiencing your Workamping dream), we don’t take into consideration the role our subconscious mind plays in our goal development.  How much leverage and input will our past programming have on future success in reaching our goals?  As you learn more about the power of the subconscious mind, you will soon realize that many times, we take two steps towards our goal and then one, two or even three steps backwards.  It is through this process that so many will set goals and then completely abandon them within a short period of time.   The opposite effect has happened–we move AWAY – not TOWARDS our goal!

Over the coming weeks we will look closer at the process we all use in dream development.  Your homework, over the coming days, is to begin to give this simple question a few moments of consideration.   Ask yourself – are my thoughts and actions moving me Away from my dream of living the Workamping lifestyle one day; or, are my thoughts and actions moving me Towards my dream of living the Workamping lifestyle?

Until next time…

When you begin thinking about living the Workamping Lifestyle your self talk can and will be pretty hard on you!  You may get excited about the entire concept to only have your self talk come back with “Who do you think you are to be able to do that?”  “No one in your family has ever been able to do something like that!”  “You don’t have what it takes to make the transition!”  on and on and on.

Let’s go back to the Living the Diamond Principle declaration.  Do you see how these two relate?  When you broke down the Diamond Principle you realized that you could begin to develop self talk that was more positive as you began relating your life to the attributes of the diamond.

What I would encourage you to do is to think about experiencing the Workamping lifestyle and to not let you self talk be your dream killer.   Just like the Diamond Principle where we focused on the attributes of the diamond, let’s focus on the attributes of Workamping and think about your attributes as a Workamper.

Your self talk might be:

I love meeting new people and learning about their culture.

It excites me to have the opportunity to live in a location for a period of time to experience the geography and the culture.

I bring to the employer a great value from my past experience, and my willingness to be a part of their success.  I know that if I help the employer be successful in their business, I will elevate my level of satisfaction to a higher level.

I can successfully live the Workamping lifestyle and See America one Job at a Time!

Do you see the difference in the self talk?  Can you feel the difference in just reading the words?  Can you take a piece of paper right now and write out three or four statements about you experiencing the Workamping lifestyle that you can begin to incorporate into your self talk?

It is just that easy to get started with self talk improvement!  Give yourself the gift and get started today.

Until next time…

Last time we visited about Personal Self Talk!  I shared with you a Declaration titled –  “Living Out the Diamond Principle.”  Have you given much thought to your self talk over the past days?  Did you write out the Diamond Principle?

Here is my burning question that I have asked myself and now I am asking you…Why Not?  What is holding you back from doing what you know you should do this minute, this hour, today?  You are not alone in this.  We all experience similar issues that keep us from taking the steps we know we should take.

We are 17 days into a New Year that provides us all with a great calendar determined time to take steps to improve our self talk and to begin setting goals and to begin working towards those goals.  If you are like me, you have set goals before and then fell short of the goals, or gave up on the goals.  Yes, I am admitting that I have too!  No one is immune from procrastination.

So, how can something like the Diamond Principle help us all?  Let’s look at it line by line.

Residing within me are the attributes of precious diamonds. Have you thought to yourself what the attributes of a diamond are and if you can tell yourself (self talk) that they are residing in you?  Attributes like – brilliance, clarity, uniqueness, one of a kind, perfection, beauty, etc.

I am precious.  I have a sense of worth.  I am valuable. How do you feel when you hear your self talk say “I am precious”  “I am valuable”?  Does it make you feel better about yourself?  Is your self talk actually having an impact on you?

I am lovable and capable. Do you have the ability to be loved by others?  Are you capable of being the type of person that can be lovable?  Is your self talk helping you understand that you are lovable and are very capable?

Like the diamond, I reflect light, bringing warmth and color to all who see me.

This is where your self talk brings this declaration to fruition.  You see yourself like the diamond.   You reflect a warmth and color to all who see you.  You are projecting out through your life the Diamond Principle.

Now, just a few days ago I was asking you how is your self talk!  Now I am showing you that through the use of a simple declaration such as the Diamond Principle, you can have a major impact on your person through your self talk.

Will you believe it at first?  Probably not!  Will you begin to believe it through the repetition  of your self talk conversations?  Yes, you will and it will begin to show in your life.

Next time we will tie this into how your self talk will impact the probability of you experiencing the Workamping lifestyle.

Until next time…

As we begin this New Year of 2011 -  I am focusing many of the posts on this blog on topics that you should reflect upon and ask yourself the questions that are posed.

We speak to ourselves each and every day, literally every moment we are alive.   Your current and future life experience has everything to do with your self talk.

Many people have told me the idea of talking to yourself is stupid!  We don’t really do this, and no one in their right mind does this!  That is actually comical.  People who are “in their right minds” are more tuned into their self talk than any other people I know!

What you say to yourself has everything to do with who you are and what you do.  Your experiences, moods, accomplishments, your goals, everything!

So you see you really need to listen to your self talk!  If you know of people who pay attention to their self talk and note the success they are having in their lives….hum…you may just want to give it some thought and talk to yourself about it!

Let’s give a try…

From time to time I will share with you a Personal Declaration that I use and have learned from my mentor Bob Proctor.  You may think these are silly when you first read them, but give it try.  You will be surprised at the impact they will have on your life over time.

Today’s Declaration:

I Live Out the Diamond Principle

Residing within me are the attributes of precious diamonds.

I am precious.  I have a sense of worth.  I am valuable.

I am lovable and capable.

Like the diamond, I reflect light, bringing warmth and color to all who see me.

Read over this principle a time or two.  Write it out on a piece of paper and read it a few times today!

You will be glad you did!

Until next time…

So many people have taken on the definition for themselves of being average.  They evaluate and measure their lives and accomplishments with respect to the general masses about them.  The fact is that some are below average and some are above average, but most generalize.  This provides a sense of normal, or self acceptance.

With this attitude you may look at someone who is living the Workamper lifestyle and experiencing their dreams and feel they are well above normal.  They are lucky and are well above normal and thus you develop a perception that there is a hugh difference between them and you.

This Attitude of Average is a mind game that holds back people just like you and me from experiencing our dreams.  We believe we don’t have what it takes, or the capabilities to do the things necessary to have the experiences we want, or think we want.  After all we are just average.  How can you possibly expect to experience the Workamping lifestyle?  The fear grows in your mind and as it grows you develop a greater distance between you and your dream.

Sadly what happens to far too many people is that they live their entire life living this lie of being average.  They convince themselves that they aren’t special enough to live the special lifestyle that Workamping can afford them.  To experience America in a way that very few people have the opportunity to do in their lifetimes.

To move towards your dream you must put the notation of being “average” behind you.  You must stand up for you own dreams and be willing to do what it will take to experience the Workamping lifestyle, or whatever dream you may have that is on hold because of this attitude.

If you choose to start this journey to experience the Workamping lifestyle, have to decide that you will commit to it.  To develop a laser focus on what it will take to begin and actually experience the lifestyle.  You must visualize yourself living the lifestyle – the final result of your desire.  Then and only then will you break free from the Attitude of Average.

In order to See America in a way that most will never experience, you must be willing to move away from your Attitude of Average!

Until later…

I would like to spend a few days visiting a book that I recommend to you by author Bob Proctor.  You may be familiar with Bob from the movie the Secret.  His involvement in that project took his celebrity and business to a new level a few years back.

This book may on the surface appear to be a book about just what the topic says,  making money!  What you will find in the very first pages and definitely the first chapter titled “Money is Not the Goal” is that money is not the goal.  To develop prosperity in our lives we have to develop an understanding that if we are chasing dollars, we are not as likely to experience success.

What Bob Proctor and many other success authors have shared in their writings and presentations is that creating wealth has very little to do with focusing on money.  It has everything to do with your mind, you attitude and the way you think.

Now before you click off the page thinking, “what is this Steve guy trying to feed me now?” hang in there with me for just a moment!  I will tie this into the Workamper lifestyle in just a minute.

Bob talks about how when we think of experiencing a wealthy life our mind takes us to certain places.  With respect to experiencing the Workamper lifestyle it might be affording the luxury 40’ motor home, or having a the deluxe 5th wheel with the most up to date and powerful tow vehicle to pull it.  Thinking you would be able to travel wherever you want, whenever you want.  These are just a few thoughts you might have, and most likely many more.

When you read definitions of wealth, such as Webster’s definition, it simply defines wealth as “an abundant supply.”  You will not find money mentioned in the definition!

The wealth the Workamping lifestyle can provide anyone is the opportunity to experience an abundance of life that money cannot buy.  I am not saying it won’t take money to live the lifestyle, that is not my point.  The wealth you will experience will come not from piles of money earned, but from the experiences of living in locations you may have only dreamed about.  Within the opportunities to develop more relationships in one year living the Workamping lifestyle than you have your entire life!  When you begin to investigate the wealth that Workamping can provide, you begin to look at the lifestyle differently.  You begin to see it for what it truly is… one of the most awesome opportunities to experience the freedom of the open road and to experience America as most people will never have the opportunity to do!

Until next time…

It is the beginning of a New Year and I hope you have set your goals?

I prefer to call them goals, as resolutions tend to be forgotten quicker than goals!  We are focused on goals with regard to Workamper Dreamers, so I encourage you to think goals for the New Year!

Over the holidays I had the opportunity to read and listen to a few books that I will be sharing from over the coming weeks.  I have often encouraged readers of this blog to become avid readers and we have even provided you with quick resource reference on the lower right portion of this blog.  If you haven’t become an avid reader, let that be one of your 2011 goals.  It all begins with the first book and then the second.

You might be saying – “I am not a reader!”  I used to say the very same thing and for years after college I didn’t read one book a year.  Over the past few years my appetite has changed and with the technology of Amazon Kindle and Audible.com the resources are more economical and accessible than ever before.

Over the coming year I am going to challenge you to think outside of the box.  To get out of your comfort zone!  If you are dreaming of experiencing the Workamper lifestyle in the future,  you need to educate yourself and arm yourself with knowledge.  Over the many years of working with active Workampers I can tell you that the Workamper who takes the time to learn about the lifestyle,  before jumping in with both feet will begin stronger.  I encourage you to be a learner!

As we begin this New Year together, take a look at your goals and set your goal to read at least one book per month or more on the list.  Please think about adding that goal and then determine what to read first.

You will be glad you did and by the end of 2011 you will have read at minimum 12 books this year!

Until later…
