The Six Ghosts of Fear

Over the coming weeks we will cover the “Six Ghosts of Fear” with regard to moving out of your comfort zone and into the Workamping lifestyle.  These Six Ghosts of Fear were covered by well know author Napoleon Hill in his works titled “Think and Grow Rich.”  This book is full of wisdom that can be applied by anyone who wishes to experience increase.  In our case we are relating it to moving away from the comfort zone of your current sticks and bricks existence and into the Workamping lifestyle.

Hill lists the Six Ghosts of Fear as:

“The fear of poverty –

The fear of criticism –

The fear of ill health –

The fear of loss of love of someone –

The fear of old age –

The fear of death.”

It is wise to understand that as long as indecision exists within your mind you will continue to experience doubt and this helps support your fears.    This process can happen very slowly and develop a strong hold in your mind without you realizing it.

Over the coming weeks we will discuss each fear and as Hill explains “Before we can master an enemy, we must know its name, its habits, and its place of abode.”

As we discuss these fears over the coming days you should analyze yourself and determine if any of them or all of them is holding you back in anyway.  Through this process of learning more about these fears you will begin to realize that all fears are nothing more than states of mind.  We have control over our state of mind and thus can direct our fears and eradicate them completely from our minds, if we choose to do so.

So many people have told me over the years that they thought about the Workamping lifestyle, but backed away from the dream for a number of reasons.   As I look back at these conversations, most of their reasons given were based around one of the fears listed above.

Hill goes onto state that through this explanation he is laying the foundation for why some people appear to be lucky while others do not.  “The fact may be explained by the statement that every mind, and with this control, obviously, every person may open his mind to the tramp thought impulses which are being released by other brains, or close the doors tightly and admit only thought impulses of his own choice.”

You must understand your fears before you can move through the Terror Barrier and into the freedom the Workamping lifestyle provides.  Return over the coming weeks as we discuss the upcoming fears.

Until next time…
